Not Much Time to Talk

Wow, been a long time since I've made a post. Well, I've listened to a LOT of music since thing and much of it new stuff that I hadn't heard before. I haven't much time to talk but I will quickly give you the down-low of what music's been like. So, Lupe Fiasco's latest album, "Food & Liquor II- The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1 (Deluxe Version)" was a highly anticipated album and needless to say, it was rather disappointing. "B**** Bad" is about the only good song on that album.

Wish My Life Had A Soundtrack Playing in the Background

"You Always Hurt the Ones You Love" by Ryan Gosling is surprisingly well-sung piece that's kinda lovely. From the erotic, intense drama soundtrack of "Blue Valentine (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"Tell Me Lies" by Natalie Cole is a jazzy song. Always liked this tune. From the soundtrack of "Cats Don't Dance".
"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Natalie Cole, Scott Bakula & Cast is an upbeat, jazzy song that's good to boogie to. Also from the soundtrack of "Cats Don't Dance".
"Bum Biddy" by Adam Sandler & Cast is an amusing and almost considerate song about being sorry. From the soundtrack of "Eight Crazy Nights".
"That 70's Show Theme Song" by Cheap Trick is one of my most favorite television show themes. From the album "The Essential Cheap Trick".
"Stu's Song" by Ed Helms is an amusing little piece with a dark, funny ending. From "The Hangover (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Trailer Song" by Howard Shore is a fantastic, haunting piece. Cannot wait for the movie to come out in December 14th! : D
"Hellfire" by Tony Jay is possibly the darkest song in ANY Disney movie. It is also proof that not all Disney movies are as innocent and children-friendly as one might think. This song is basically about a high-power figure singing about how he wants to bone a gypsy and if she refuses, she should burn in Hell. Lovely, I know. From "The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Original Soundtrack)".
"More Than Words" by Mike Meyers & Manu Narayan is a cover of the song by Extreme. It's a cute, catchy cover, having Indian instruments to spice thing up. From "The Love Guru (Music from the Motion Picture)".
"The Final Riddle" by Evil Face & Final Medallion Piece is a great song from my childhood and just so awesome. Never will forget this song. From the computer game "Mortimer and the Riddles of the Medallion".
"Gate Songs" by Safari Gate, Jungle Gate, Arctic Gate & Cave Gate is a compilation of all songs from each of these gates. All cleverly written. Also from the computer game "Mortimer and the Riddles of the Medallion."
"Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit (from "How I Met Your Mother")" by Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders & Alyson Hannigan is a hilarious look on the "importance" of wearing suits.
"Spider-Man: The New Animated Series (Theme) by Danny Elfman is a trippy incredibly short theme song. No words, just techno. From "Spider-Man (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"The Worst Pies In London" by Angela Lansbury is a wonderful song. From the Broadway classic "Sweeney Todd".
"My Friends" by Angela Lansbury & Len Cariou is an interesting take on this song. Len Cariou's voice is very operatic, filled with bravado. Also from "Sweeney Todd".
"Pretty Women" by Alan Rickman & Johnny Depp is an interestingly charming song. Who knew these two fantastic actors could make such a great pair singing together. The fact that either of them can sing, blows me away. From "Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (The Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"Not While I'm Around" by Edward Sanders & Helena Bonham Carter is one of the sweetest songs I've ever heard from a musical. And considered the typically dark theme of this particular musical, this song has heart. Also from "Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (The Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"My Friends" by Helena Bonham Carter & Johnny Depp is the best version of this song. Love it. Kind of a sweet song about friends, even despite the fact Sweeney is referring to his knives as his friends. Also from "Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (The Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"Epiphany" by Helena Bonham Carter & Johnny Depp is by far the BEST song in the entire musical and the best version I've ever heard. Filled with emotion and decent voices, this song is great. I could listen to it over and over again and never get tired of it. I pratically have almost the entire song memorized. Also from "Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (The Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"Johanna" by Jamie Campbell Bower is a beautifully sung sweet song. Though it's slightly stalkerish, it's nonetheless romanitc-like. Also from "Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (The Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"The Worst Pies In London" by Helena Bonham Carter & Johnny Depp is an amusingly up-beat song. It's honest and just so cleverly sung by Helena. Also from "Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (The Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"Green Finch and Linnet Bird" by Jayne Wisener is a beautifully sung operatic song. Such a lovely voice. Also from "Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (The Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"Johanna (Reprise)" by Jamie Campbell Bower, Johnny Depp & Laura Michelle Kelly is an interestingly sung piece that's got a sweet and bitter side to it. Also from "Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (The Motion Picture Soundtrack)".
"I'm So Ronery" by Trey Parker is an amusingly sweet song sung by a puppet version of Kim Jong Ill. Wonder if it's how he really felt inside. From "Team America - World Police (Music from the Motion Picture)".

Party Like a "Rock" Star!

"Egypt-The Chains Are On" by Dio is a decent, typical rock song that has good guitar and a wavery voice. From the album "The Last in Line".
"Race Against Time" by Our Lives In Motion is a nice song that's very sterotypical as far has rock songs go. Dramatic "deep" lyrics, familiar guitar tunes, though still ok. From the album "Salvation In Secrets".
"Hey Sexy Girl (Demo)" by Kaden Chevalie, Jade Pinkiepie Cox & Maxwell Leathea is a pretty good song for a band of three high-schoolers, all of whom, I know. Decent vocals, though repitive lyrics, but I believe that's the point of the song. Great guitar. From their single "Hey Sexy Girl - Single".
"Love Reign O'er Me" by The Who is a ****ing fantastic song. Although I personally think that the cover by Pearl Jam is better, the original is nonetheless, amazing. From the album "Quadrophenia (Remastered)".
"So Far Away" by Avenged Sevenfold is a decent song despite my dislike towards this group. For the most part, they suck, but I'll admit this is a really good song with a good message behind the chorus. From the album "Nightmare".
"Miserlou" by Dick Dale is easily a classic. Where do you think The Black Eyed Peas got this tune from?  From the album "Guitar Legend: The Very Best of Dick Dale".
"Chaos Live In Everything (feat. Skrillex)" by Korn is a, as Dad would say, "kleptofonic" song. It's groovy, man! Haha, nah, it adds a great dubstepist plus Korn, just SO awesome. From the fantasticaly awesome album "The Path of Totality (Special Edition)".
"Bible Black" by Heaven & Hell has some really badass guitar solos and just great to bang your head to. Haha. :) From the album "The Devil You Know".
"Alone I Break [Album Version]" by Korn as I've said in a different post, is just such a ****ing great song. Absolutely LOVE the chorus, I resonate with it a bit. From the album "The Essential Korn".
"Like Suicide" by Seether is one of my favorite songs by this awesome band. From the great album "Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces (Bonus Track Version)".
"Here Come The Tears" by Judas Priest... I cannot stress enough how incredible this song is. From the album "Sin After Sin".

"High Grade" by Laden is nice.
"Money Over War" by Laden is really good.

"R&B/Soul"

"Hold One, I'm Coming" by Sam & Dave is a classic song to boogie to.

I Want Some "Pop"

"Simple Man" by Graham Nash is a stereotypical 70's song but catchy. From the album "Songs for Beginners".
"Use Me" by Bill Withers is a funky hit. From his Greatest Hits!
"We're the Pet Shop Boys" by Robbie Williams... Not really sure what the this song is about, but Hell, who cares? It's catchy and that's all that matters. From the album "Rudebox".
"I Need Some Sleep" by Eels is a song that's certainly meant for napping. From the "Shrek 2" soundtrack.
"Lullabye" by Emitt Rhodes is short and pretty. From the album "The Emitt Rhodes Recordings (1969 - 1973)".
"Firework" by Matt Mulholland is a brilliant cover of a shitty song by Katy Perry. He makes it great. Accapella style + multi-track = YUS! From the album "Matt Mulholland: Sings Covers".
"Billie Jean (Single Version) by Michael Jackson is a classic-shake-your-booty song. From the album "The Essential Michael Jackson".
"For the First Time" by The Script has an incredible and honest chorus. From the album "Science & Faith (Bonus Track Version)".
"Still (Soundtrack)" by Ben Folds is amazing in its own unique way. It's simple but complicated. Made me ponder my past. From the album "The Best Imitations of Myself: A Retrospective".
"Never" by Moving Pictures is a great angry song with some kick-ass saxaphone. From the album "Days of Innocence".
"True" by Spandau Ballet is an '80's classic. From the album "True".

"Never Say Never" is such a wonderful song, purely because of the dramatic chorus. From the album "The Fray".
"Whatever You Imagine" by Wendy Moten is a stereotypical "powerful" song from the '90's but I've always loved this song. From the album "Wendy Moten".
"A Man for All Seasons" by Robbie Williams is a delightfully catchy song from the hilarious spy spoof "Johnny English".
"My Eyes" by Neil Patrick Harris & Felicia Day is a dark and beautiful song from the amazing musical "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog".
"Hey, Soul Sister" by Train has been a guilty pleasure of mine since freshman year.
"All By Myself" by Eric Carmen is dramatic and "woe-is-me" and cheesy beyond belief but I love it. Haha. Song drives my Mum nuts. From the album "All By Myself".
"Lovely Day" by Bill Withers is just too damn groovy, man! ;)
"Best Laid Plans" by James Blunt is a really good song. Love it. Absolutely love it. From the album "Some Kind Of Trouble".
